I
was born and raised in Flint Michigan. My family owned
women’s clothing stores that were similar to
a department store. Growing up in retail is a huge
part of who I am today. As far back as I can remember
I was in the store taking it all in, the people, both
shopping and the extended family working in the store.
Taking in the shapes, smells and feel of what women
wanted to enhance their internal happiness.
After graduating from the University
of Michigan School of Art and Design with a Bachelors
of Fine Arts degree, I began selling my own jewelry
off of my wrist everywhere I went. I soon learned
that designing and making jewelry was the direction
that I should pursue. I have been attracted to metal
as far back as I can remember. Growing up in an automotive
town, seeing gears and heaps of scrap metal left me
to imagine what I could do with all of the metal.
My designs are from the heart. I get
my ideas from nature and man mimicking nature. More
recently my work has a more colorful flare. I design
jewelry for the every day woman. Jewelry that becomes
a part of you. Something that you don’t have
to think about. It all goes together and it’s
easy to wear. You never have to take it off, you can
go to the gym, hang out with your kids/ family or
dress it up. I hope that you find that it becomes
a part of you too. Have fun starting your collection. |
